Libby - Dollhouse Miniature Doll

I planned to finish the rug with Hunting scene over the weekend and actually I am very close to do it - only have of background left to be filled up.

Suddenly, I decided to change the point of my interest and put all my attention towards the dollhouse miniature doll Libby (pattern/kit by Dana Barton).

I made Libby's dress in green. I feel like a special finishing touch is still missing (may be it is a little red flower on her bodice, or a pearl necklace on her neck, or yellow sunflowers in the basket...). It was a great pleasure and fun working on her.

She looks very innocent and fragile for me.

I wanted to make a bobbin lace shawl but at the last moment changed my mind and used Carrickmacross lace - a type of needle lace the tutorial of which I am planning to post on my blog somewhere in summer.

Basket was cut on scroll saw by me, the leads are working.

Still can't figure out what happened to blogger and why I can't navigate the uploading of the images.
Anybody experiences the same problem?

Happy Easter!

Natalia

  1. Your doll is beautiful! I love the determined look on her face.
Blogger has been really strange lately. I have been hearing lots of complaints.

  2. I agree that she looks innocent and fragile, but also secretive. She is very beautiful and a cutout dress has and how she can wear it, here I can be quite jealous. It is a very beautiful dress and doll.

  3. The doll is gorgeous and the dress you made for her is stunning. I also love the beautiful basket, which I suppose is also one of your wonderful hand crafts.

  4. Love your doll! The lace shawl is amazing. And the scroll sawn basket is just too wonderful for words. Do you have a special kind of scroll saw for the making of the basket

  9. I am so curious about her. Who is she? She looks a little lost or thoughtful or pensive or maybe she's just dreaming of the day before :).

That basket is gorgeous , Natalia and it was clear for me that you made it. Do you have sunflowers? Maybe I can give you some for you to play with if you don't.

What do you mean that you cannot navigate the uploading? Do you mean to say that you can't place the pictures where you want them (eg left right center?) ? If so, try using another browser like Google Chrome if you are using IE.

I always google to see if anybody else has the same problems. Many times I can find the answers.

  12. Isn't it nice to get sidetracked and receive such beautiful results? The dress you've made is simply beautiful... and I really wonder what might be the story behind this pretty lady... maybe a fairy in human disguise... ;O)

    Greetings
