Work in Progress: Antique Kazak Rug, 18th c., 1/12th scale

Today I visited the closing needlework store in the area and bought Gloriana silk for my new project - reproduction in 1/12th scale of the Antique Kazak rug, the end of the 18th century.

Here you can see a little progress

It took me 3 hours to stitch this tiny strip of 4 rows in red, each row has 317 stitches, total 1268 stitches.

125532 stitches to go!!!!

Best wishes,

Natalia

  1. Did you buy up everything from that store? :)

I really like your ruler. Did Little Natalia do that?

  2. Yap, little Natalia rules in this house!
I don't like to buy silk thread for my rugs on-line. I need to see and feel the colors. It was only one local needlework store that carried Gloriana silk (love it!). Next nearest store is 5-6 hours of driving, lol....
