Pattern of the Month - Dollhouse Miniature Petit Point Carpet IZMIR

Today I would like to present you my new pattern. The design for a dollhouse miniature petit point carpet IZMIR was adopted from an antique rug Izmir, 18th century. The field of the carpet is composed of three dots arranged in a triangle that resemble the spots on a leopard. The border consists of rose, carnation, and tulip motifs representing the garden of Eden.

There are 361 x 470 stitches. The carpet, when finished, measures 7.52" x 9.79" (19,10 x 24,87 cm). Charted for 48 count silk gauze, DMC floss.

As you can see from the previous post, I stitch this rug in a smaller version with over dyed silk floss.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Natalia
