Edwardian Elegance - Work in Progress

Vanessa finally got her shoes. The heels are still missing, I am working on them.

Nothing super fancy. Actually, it appeared, that the doll has big feet and it makes it a little bit harder to come up with something elegant, but I don't give up, and will keep experimenting.

At least, she can take her shoes off and give a rest to her feet.

The dress was made based on the Kathi Mendenhall's pattern with a little modification. I am very happy with the choice of fabric I found for Vanessa's dress. Now my big question is: do I want her to stay in the composition, or to sit on the chair? It is a big question for me, because based on my decision it will depend on how to drape her dress. Any suggestions, please?

Have a great Tuesday!

Natalia

Fine shoes and they fit so well with the dress. She should definitely get up, the dress details are best seen when she stands. Beautiful detail with the triangle and beautifully with the black edge sewn into the fabric. . Very beautiful and well made.

Wat een leuk aangeklede pop. Zittend met haar mooie slofjes aan vind ik haar erg leuk.

Fijne dag en groeten,

Wyrna,
This is what I am thinking too: if I sit her down, the beauty of dress will be lost.

Привет!
Мне кажется, Ванесса должна стоять у окна и задумчиво смотреть вдаль. Так Кукла выглядит естественно. И платье хорошо смотрится, когда Ванесса стоит.

Good decision to let her stand - I agree with the others: The beauty of her dress will show even more when she stands. Great job on the shoes!

Vanessa looks like she came into the house didn't take her dress off and just put her slippers on when she is sitting.

When I first started on dolls, I thought it important that my doll should be posable in many ways, Not anymore! It is so important for character doll to somehow be in one position because of the details like the flow of her dress, the tilt of her head etc.

You have made the dress beautifully and are right to decide on a pose that can show it off properly!
