The 1st of October and my update for Dollhouse Chinese Ninghsia Rug.

Today is the 21st of September, Tuesday! I finished the medalion.

Today is the 20th of September, 2010, Monday, and I posted a new image of stitching progress of Chinese Ninghsia Rug.

Not much was stitched so far, but not a bad start...

Yesterday I finished charting the Dollhouse Chinese Ninghsia Rug adapted from a real size 3rd quarter 19th c. Chinese Ninghsia Rug. Antique Chinese rug, probably woven in the Ninghsia area of Gansu Province in Western China, 3rd quarter of the 19th century or earlier. There are literary references to carpets having been made in this region of China since 1692. Along with the use of hand spun, un-dyed, cotton warps and wefts, the more open and spacious field arrangement consisting of a central medallion, a deer, a bat, a phoenix, and fret-work corner elements, indicate a rather early date of manufacture for this handsome carpet, perhaps earlier than 1850.
